Description:

Ein Weibchen. Sie sehen dem Balkenschröter (Dorcus parallelipipedus) zum Verwechseln ähnlich, haben aber einen Violettschimmer in den Flügeldecken, welche auch feiner punktiert sind, und ihre Fühler sehen eher aus wie ein Kamm, während die von D. parallelipipedus eine Keule besitzen. ////////////// A female. They can easily be mistaken for Dorcus parallelipipedus, but they have a violet-shimmer on the elytrons, which are also dotted finer, and the end of the antennae resembles a comb, while D. parallelipipedus has clavate antennae.
