Field Notes

Description:

Second picture was actually taken first from a great distance to see if it was there, it lives in the hole it is standing in. Just after I took that it walked inside. When I got closer I tried to get as close as possible without being seen or heard, then saw it on the roof and took the second (pic 3). It immediately turned and looked straight at me (pics 4 & 5), looked away (pic 1) before flying off (pic 6). I have seen one there for several years but no idea if it is always the same one. The house? is derelict but still lived in!

Habitat:

Coastal marshes
