Description:

Square-headed Wasp? Small black wasp with yellow stripes on the abdomen. There is yellow on the face that extends up the scape of the antennae. The wings are smoky with red coloration on the top half.

Habitat:

Ladies Tobacco plant in chaparral

It does! Unfortunately this is the only shot I got before it flew off so I don't know the markings on the face or end of the abdomen. I'll add the common name of Apoid Wasp. Thank you Mark!
