Field Notes

Description:

3 dark red petals, 3 green, sharply pointed sepals. Each flower was growing on a stalk about 8 inches long with 3 leaves radiating out at about half-way up.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest.

Thanks. Plants are considerate in that they don't move around much; I only wish I could get shots of birds as clear as this one.
