Description:
Vibrant, orange zoned fruiting body that was 3-4 cm wide. Somewhat irregularly fan-shaped. The underside was smooth and cream/tan colored, lacking pores.

Rotting wood in a deciduous forest
Notes:
Stereum ostrea is called the "False Turkey Tail" because it looks like "True Turkey Tail", Trametes versicolor. The major difference between the two is found underneath the cap: Stereum ostrea doesn't have pores, while Trametes versicolor has pores.
