Description:
Small tree-living mammal with large eyes and long, strong back legs. Varying shades of grey and brown all over its body with a white patch on its underbelly.
Habitat:
Tree-living, found in all strata of savanna woodland.
Notes:
We have a family group living in our roof that we regularly watch as they leave to go foraging, the number at the moment is three (nicknamed Jomba, Qhasha and Eqa (all variations of the word "jump" translated into Zulu)), though it varies in summertime when young are born and start to forage. These pictures were taken as they were feeding from a bowl of fruit and yogurt that was put out for them as a supplement (it was a hard winter).
