It can be found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. I found this specimen in a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.

Notes:

Lives on the ground and low-lying area of riparian rivers, bays and corixos beyond the dry forests. At any sign of danger, departs on short flights, concealed by dense vegetation.

Thanks Malcolm. It is interesting how similar this species is to the orange-billed sparrow much further north.
It looks like Saffron-billed Sparrow which is found in Brazil, and yes Jeff, it is Arremon Genus. FYI I just did a Google image search using "Brazil bird black white face orange bill" and up it popped!
Thanks "Phillip Torres" and "Jeff Dreier"! and, "Jeff Dreier", thanks for information, and, I'll try discover if have some subspecie or similar specie in my region... ;)
Possibly in the genus Arremon. It looks a lot like the orange-billed sparrow I have seen in Costa Rica, but that species is not found in Brazil.
