Field Notes

Description:

Bug looked black when I first spotted it, then as the sunlight hit it I saw it was actually shot with metallic purple...three white spots on either side down the back. I am not sure but I thought I saw a flash of orange/red as it spread its wings and flew away.

Habitat:

It settled on the outside wall of a building, explored crevices and the anti-insect net covering the verandah and flew away.
