Field Notes

Description:

My Mom thought maybe a female Wood duck, but I feel it lacks detail. Notice the feathers on the back of the head ARE characteristic of a wood duck or merganser. Appears with 2 youth with reddish brown on the top of their heads above their eyes. Brown/gray on back.

Again, not great pics. I will try to get better pictures on a sunny day.

Habitat:

Pond
Summer climate.
