Field Notes

Description:

Young female Harbor Seal I have observed since she was a pup in 1993. I can identify them by the spot patterns on their bellies or by scars etc. She is now an adult and has had two pups in the years I have known her.

Habitat:

Northern Atlantic, Coastal. They use tidal rocks or beaches to rest (haul out) and pup but will go 20 or more miles off shore to feed.
