Description:
Deep blue back and wings. Buff color on chest and belly. Rusty color on forehead and throat. Body is slim built. Tail is forked and can be seen when in flight. Builds bowel shaped nests made of mud and attached to buildings mostly. Similar to the Cliff Swallow which makes gourd shape nests and lackes the deep blue color.
Habitat:
Nesting in alcove near entrance to Vistor's Center. They fly over fields and water to catch insects.
