Spider and Moth
16.7128, -92.6122
Field Notes
Description:
This large Geometrid moth (2 cm long) landed on the wall. A plump little spider (Jumping Spider?) ran up to it and slowly eased in under the wing. I thought it might actually try to eat a moth this size! It stayed under the wing for a while moving around. Finally the moth flapped it's wings and the spider came back out.
Habitat:
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
