Description:

I think this is an island apple snail (Pomacea insularum) because of the pink eggs on the rocks. However it is possible that the shell is from another species since its shape doesn't match the photos I've seen.

Habitat:

A man made lake in a masterplanned community. Cultivated and mowed (and possibly chemically fertilized also) grass grows down to the edge of the water, but there are also Plantings of cypress and oak nearby.
