Field Notes

Description:

Typical robber fly appearance, strong, bulky thorax, Long moustache bristles, long thin abdomen, slightly bulbous at end which depicts a male. About an inch long, maybe a tad more.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

Fairly common sight if you look around your feet as you are walking. They never seem to stray far from the ground. Highly skilled ambush hunters, they will never go hungry.
