Field Notes

Description:

The light from my flash is reflected in its tapetum lucidum, a layer of tissue in the eye, immediately behind the retina. It reflects visible light back through the retina, increasing the light available to the photoreceptors, though blurring the initial image of the light on focus. The tapetum lucidum contributes to the superior night vision of foxes and other carnivores that hunt their prey at night.

Habitat:

Suburban road

Notes:

Photos 1 & 2 are of adults, photo 3 is of one of the cubs.

HEY, NICE PICS. Would you consider joining this mission? I just started it and I looking forward to to promote it. If you could add your London foxes pics to the mission it will be very much appreciated. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1848626002
Thanks Dez! I've been hearing this little family (2 adults & 3 cubs) chattering & calling to each other most evenings & thought I would try for a few night photos. They don't appear to be particularly worried by my presence but vanished before I could get any closer. I wish the photos were better but there is no street lighting here & my flash isn't powerful enough.
I love the series! These are so special to us (South Africans) in England!
