Description:
Nymph. This picture shows just the skeleton. They become large dragonflies, generally known as "darners" and "devil's darning needles" because it was once popularly believed that they sewed up the ears of truant schoolboys.
Habitat:
Most of the United States and Canada. Near fresh water.
