A Columba livia sitting on a Homo sapiens. This C. livia is a resident of Venice, and unique among the generic pigeons of the world for its love of sitting on people and not soiling them

Please also note that Columba livia domestica is not native to Venice it is an introduced domesticated species from its native range on the rocky cliffs of NW, W & S Europe and N Africa.
