Field Notes

Description:

A rather large insect, approximately 1.5 inches in length. Very distictive 3 stripes on body. Rather solitary. The females leave distictive holes in the ground.
Cicada killer is feasting a coral honeysuckle.

Habitat:

Backyard has a lot of flowers and large tree like scrubs which attract Cicadas.
