Field Notes

Description:

According to Wikipedia, Chrysomya megacephala is most common "in the Oriental and Australasian realms". So, since the Philippines is right in the middle of the Oriental Realm, distribution here is confirmed.

Habitat:

Spotted in our backyard on a Hyacinth Bean (Lablab purpureus) better known in the Philippines as Bataw. Plant information - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Bataw.html
