Field Notes

Notes:

I found this beauty on my screen door when I got home from work. I think it had just emerged from its cocoon because at first its wings were still crinkly and it would not fly. It walked right onto my net and then onto my hand, where it spent some time stretching and fluttering its wings (and giving me my first glimpse of its gorgeous pink hindwings). It took many practice flights off me and then back before it finally fluttered off into the night.
