Does anyone know.... Would these be classified as 'Other' or 'Fish' ??
You have to be persistent and patient and have a strainer and shift through the sand. I have found some just laying there, but that is pretty rare depending on what beach you go to. The itty bitty ones were found deep in the sand. I just couldn't believe how small they were!!!!!!
What an exciting field trip. It seems that fossil teeth washed onto the beach are often 4 - 5 million years old and as sharks evolve slowly they are possibly not even extinct species. https://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/sharks/fossils/fossil_modernsharkteeth.html#age
Dog claw? that could be a tusk shell. I have one, and I thought it was a bird talon until a few weeks ago!
Aren't they awesome? I found some and so did the kids. I couldn't believe how tiny those two were. But, apparently they are fossilized which means that they are extremely old! I wonder how old and what some are. So exciting. I found this other weird thing, someone told me it was a dog claw. But idk. Maybe I will post it to see if anyone knows. :)
You are so lucky to find these! I always wanted to find shark teeth.
