OK, now you know it is a Barn Swallow you should be able to fill out the scientific name field correctly, that is the Prime field for all searches as the details are the same throughout the world while Common names differ. Many countries do not call it a Barn Swallow, some just use Swallow, Chimney Swallow, Eurasian Swallow and many others! Here is a link to the Clements checklist which includes all the Scientific names but only the American Common Names which often differ from European! http://www.birds.cornell.edu/clementschecklist/downloadable-clements-checklist
I get a good look at the mama bird this evening. Compared it to a picture from the Cornell Lab and definitely a barn swallow. A band on the throat looked red. In the sun the dark color looked a deep blue. A fast big catching bird the at times look like a B2 bomber.
Looks like a Barn Swallow nest and sounds like a Swallow of some sort, did it have any red on it and if so where?.
