Description:

The tallest palm in the world, sometimes topping 60m (200').

Habitat:

cloudforest, valleys, up to 2500m

Notes:

A friend and I spent the day hiking through the Cocora valley, then up into cloudforest and back down a road that gradually descend back into the valley. The valley was very atmospheric after it had stopped raining. We were surrounded by mist and Wax Palms. It was an amazing day!
