Description:

Thomisus Walckenaer, 1805, of family Thomisidae, are flower crab spiders that are ambush predators and feed on insects visiting flowers. In most species females are 4 to 10mm long, with males 2 to 7mm. Many are brightly colored, usually matching the color of the flower in which they are waiting in ambush. They can change their color over a period of some days to match the flower color.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on yellow alder plant.
