Garter Snake
Thamnophis
41.0909, -104.808
Field Notes
Description:
This particular snake was dead and dry. Because it was starting to decompose, it must have been there for a while. This snake was about a foot and a half long and was very thin. It was black with a grey tint and had one yellow line running from the head to tail.
Habitat:
Grassy fields, gardens, and open spaces. The fields may either be dry or wet and are of any size. This snake was found in a pasture across from my home.
Notes:
These snakes and many more are common in this area.
