Field Notes

Description:

This little one was fun to watch on the flowers. For some odd reason it circled around each flower while it was getting nector. Maybe trying to stay balanced in the wind.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood next to a pine forest.

Notes:

Picture was taken in Orlando, FL.

Hey Bayucca it is definitely a Erynnis species. It looks very similar to the Juvenal's Duskywing, but I think you are right that it is a Horace's Duskywing.
Hesperiidae, Pyrginae, Erynnis sp. and should be Erynnis horatius. http://bugguide.net/node/view/779347 Please, verify, Erynnis is sometimes quite a tricky genus. http://bugguide.net/node/view/17268
