Field Notes

Description:

Galls are abnormal plant growths which are caused by a variety of organisms including insects, nematodes, fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Insects and mites cause damage to a leaf or introduce salivary secretions that cause increased production of normal plant growth hormones. As the plant cells grow in size and/or number, a gall is formed.

Habitat:

Along a neighborhood street

Notes:

First spotting of this on Noah! :>)

I removed it, Scott. Apologies for not having read the description well enough.
Maria, This probably doesn't belong in the Brooding behavior mission. Thanks
Thank you, Braulio. Before Project Noah, I would have just thought the tree was diseased; now I investigate all kinds of things I see on plants and sometimes discover new things!
