Description:
The female Mallard Duck (or wild duck) is dull with a combination of browns, creams, and black coloring. The male is much more colorful due to drawing the attention of mates. The head of a male is dark green with blue tints. The stomach is usually cream colored with a black bottom and brown front side. The top of the male is a pattern of creams, browns, and black feathers. Both have orange legs and webbed feet. Both also have yellow tinted bills.
Habitat:
Most Mallard Ducks are found near or around water such as rivers and lakes. This is because fish are their main food source. The habitat is usually woods and thick, tall grass with logs, dirt or sand, and rocks.
Notes:
Ducks are birds that are incredible entertaining to watch as long as you don't get to close.
