Notes:

This is some kind of beetle, but I am not sure what. It almost looks as if it just hatched because it seemed so wet. I thought maybe it was a newly born eastern Hercules beetle because of the color, but it wasn't really all that big so I can't be sure.

Apparently, it's non-native and considered a pest. The mystery has been solved.
I see this beetle quite a bit near me too, lately. I don't think it's newly hatched though. It seems like a June beetle, but I'm not sure either.
