The quick search I did only showed dark specimens like this one Cindy. There are a number of very similar looking species so I'm not sure. I wish I had noted the species of plant the other one was on.
You're welcome. I had to know what this awesome mimicking planthopper was :) I believe the other one is the same species but I can't say for sure.
Thanks for the ID Cindy! This was on bracken so that is further confirmation.
I've found a match to family & it looks as though these could be 2 different species according to the resource so I will create a new spotting for nymph #2
Could be Andrea, though the 2 individuals I have posted here were found 2 or 3 miles apart from each other.
could be a fungal infection? I'm just guessing, don't know anything about diseases in hoppers but I saw some other species getting that swell up after such an infection.
