Field Notes

Description:

Low, bushy, much branched plant 4-18in tall. Lower stems are woody, as is taproot. A coat if hairs on leaves and stems give plant its light gray green color. The yellow flower heads are terminal.

Habitat:

Growing in a thin layer of soil over rock on spillway at Belton Lake.
