Description:

A medium-sized butterfly with dark wings patterned with white and red dots. Part of the Variable Checkerspot complex.

Notes:

Location is approximate - I was on a tour with a group of stakeholders and lost track of where exactly we were. Somewhere in the Umatilla National Forest north of La Grande!
