Description:
Robber Flies are air hunters with strong legs, and can catch their prey on flight. They are medium to large size flies with large eyes. Most robber flies have a "beard" of setae around the face, which is believed to serve as protection from damage by their prey. This species shows black femurs with yellow tibia and black tarsus. Wings are dark brown.
Habitat:
Garden in a bush property; surroundings: dry sclerophyll forest.
