Description:

Bebearia orientis, the Eastern Palm Forester, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Adults are attracted to fermented fruit. They are probably on wing year round.

The larvae feed on Phoenix reclinata, Raphia farinifera and probably Cocos nucifera.

Habitat:

The habitat consists of forests.

Notes:

Butterfly on a wall. It was resting in a manner it would have been in a natural habitat- face down with large dull-coloured wings with minimal linear patterns held up above like a single dry leaf, slightly blending into the similar coloured wall.
