Field Notes

Description:

The Openbill Stork has a truly weirdly-shaped bill , a distictive gap between the arched upper beak and curved lower beak - a dentists nightmare! (If only the blokes had teeth ;-) ) . The fellows bill's unusual shape is specially adapted to feeding on large snails - such as golden apple snails ( apart from frogs, toads and other unfortunate fellows that happen to cross the storks path)
