Field Notes

Description:

Herbaceous plant with alternate leaves containing three leaflets each. Leaflets are green with a pale, chevron shaped marking. Dark pink flowers.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.

Notes:

Widely used for fodder. Nitrogen fixer. Contains isoflavones and is used to help relieve menopausal symptoms and is reported to have other medicinal uses.
