We catch them to see what's there. We do community surveys statewide (in Indiana), but sometimes we focus on certain species. My specialty is non-game species, but occasionally we catch game species like this one. Depending on what we're doing, sometimes we will weigh and measure the fish before releasing them. They're kept in live wells so they aren't killed in the process. :)
Hi Joanne. You have some awesome photos of fish "out of water"! Are you taking scales from them, putting tags on them or what is the purpose of your catching them? Great photos.
