Field Notes

Habitat:

Backyard.

Notes:

I followed it all around the back yard. It came back a few hours later. It comes and goes through a hole under the fence. It was not impressed by the tomatoes. Instead, it ate trumpet flowers. I have named it buttons, because it has button holes on its shell. I took video of it. I will add that later when I have edited out the dog getting in the way.

Really nice portrait. I know it's a mistake to assign human emotions to animals, but he looks thoughtful and pensive. Nice story. Nice whimsy in the final shot, his stubby little tail as he lumbers away. Well done ...
Interesting. The holes look like teeth marks. :-)
