Are you sure that the Southern Toad is found in Maryland? Markings looks in my eyes somehow different. Anaxyrus and Bufo are sometimes synonyms. I do not know yet which ones are called Bufo and which ones Anaxyrus.
I am not sure if it is Anaxyrus americanus or Anaxyrus fowleri. Or another one?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_toad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bufo_fowleri Americanus: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AaADO5jCF6s/UJLJGxod5aI/AAAAAAAAAHE/XX-Git6rN0Q/s1600/american+toad+Karl.jpg Fowleri: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11558367@N07/8371102255
