Field Notes

Description:

A very strange plant with a shoe-like flower and very irregular branches. It looks as if it were made of plastic. This is the first time it is flowering and I took this pictures which are the first ones of the plant's flower.

Habitat:

Dry forest.

There is a very interesting paper about the use of this plant to make hidrocarbons (fuels simmilar to gasoline) : http://ejournal.sinica.edu.tw/bbas/content/1997/2/bot382-06.html
