Field Notes

Description:

A thrilling creature to behold. You think it's a Bumblebee before yet, but it's a hovering moth. Male an inch or so. Female easily four inches.

Habitat:

Usually near its host Snowberry. Comes to Buckeye blossoms in California.

Notes:

In the net to show people on my Butterfly walk in SUNOL Regional Wilderness.
