Field Notes

Description:

Family: Lyceanidae > Subfamily: Melitinae. North America's only carnivorous caterpillar, this little larva likes to feast on the larva of Woolly Aphids, which can also be seen here. The caterpillar, as well as the adult, is quite small so its quite exciting to have run into it.
