Description:

Distinctive papery bracts give this plant its common name of Paper Daisy. Plant grows to about 1 metre high with several 'branches' holding bright yellow, cream or white flowers and mid green leaves. Flowers from spring to autumn and can emerge after rains in arid areas. flowers provide food for many insects including butterflies, beetles and grasshoppers. Can be stored in flower arrangements months or years after picking, cultivars have been developed for many years which include various shades of red and pink with varied number of bracts and flower size.

Habitat:

Found in varied habitats throughout Australia where it is a native species. These ones found in mountain high country in northern NSW.
