Description:

In caterpillar form, this beautiful moth species is also referred to as wooly bears due to their fuzzy appearance. When they are in their adult moth stage however, they are not the reddish brown(or yellow or beige) color of their caterpillar stage but a snowy white with a few black spots here and there as well as a yellow proboscis.

Habitat:

They are widespread throughout North America - bug guide.net
