Field Notes

Habitat:

Spotted near Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve.

Notes:

I felt privileged to spy on this groundhog during his mealtime in a junkyard. He was indulging himself on a large weed growing along the fence. He certainly wasn't bothered by the heavy rain or my nearby car. You can tell he really enjoyed his food because he shut his eyes in the 5th photo! :) After a few minutes I thought he had finished eating when he turned around, but he resumed shortly after. I had no idea groundhogs could stand up on their hind legs like people!
