Field Notes

Description:

These two flies were on the same bush, but not interacting. They might be different species. The first has patterned wings, the second does not, and the first one is remarkably hairy for a member of this group. Family Dolichopodidae. These flies are predacious and beneficial.

Habitat:

Large Hotel Garden, Posada San Juan de Dios, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
