Field Notes

Description:

White Admiral: upper side is black with broad white median bands on both wings: hind wing has a marginal row, of blue dashes and a sub-marginal row of red dots. Underside is reddish-brown with white median bands as on the upperside.

Habitat:

They are usually found in the north in deciduous broad-leaf or mixed evergreen forests dominated by aspen or birch.

Notes:

The White Admiral was seen along Hwy. 29 near Pine Lake.
