Field Notes

Description:

5-6 foot long black snake. His belly is creamy yellow and flecks of it run up his lateral midsection. Bulbous tapered triangular head about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. He was very passive, hardly moved at all and let me get fairly close.

Habitat:

Rural missouri. Have seen him a few times near a large rock pile and a small lagoon.

I would agree on that. They seem to be fairly common around here
Hard to tell from the photos, but likely this guy http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/texas-ratsnake-black-rat-snake
