Binomial is another way of saying Scientific name, which consists of two parts, Genus + species, in Latin. Another one you may come across is trinomial, which is in three parts, normally used to identify sub-species, so Genus + species + sub-species. Sub-species is used quite a lot with birds where one species can occur in many parts of the world sometimes with distinct plumage differences in population groups.
Cercopithecus aethiops was the original binomial but this has recently been split away from that species, at least by some authorities..
