Description:

About 6 mm in length, this day-flying lighting bug has black wing covers and a pronotum with a central black spot ringed with red with yellow margins.

Habitat:

Eastern deciduous forests in eastern North America.

Notes:

I'm seeing lots of these day-flying beetles right now.
